Composite Result of Critical Lands Analysis - result of overlaying the four previous resource themes. The resource themes were reclassified into a presence/absence classification and added together.  The value of each pixel was recomputed using a 3-pixel average filter to take into account the quality of surrounding landscape.  Areas that are already protected (i.e. DEM management areas and open water) were then removed from the composite. The resulting map shows the areas that are most critical for protection for Coventry, RI.  We used a statistical method to identify categories of importance for conservation.

Orthophotography - digital orthophotography in which distortions associated with traditional aerial photography have been removed. This is a useful map because it allows users to easily cross-reference the location of critical resource regions on the landscape.
